Address Hotels + Resorts is at the forefront of food waste reduction. By employing Winnow, an AI-based tool, across five of our properties, we gain valuable insights into mitigating excess food production from the kitchen.

To achieve zero food waste in landfills, properties that produce significant amounts of food waste are encouraged to partner with onsite or offsite food waste decomposition systems. For example, Armani has an onsite food waste composter that converts organic waste into compost, closing the loop on our dining operations and minimising landfill contributions. Palace Downtown and Address Grand Creek Harbour donate their excess food to Reloop, which converts the waste into manure that supports local farms. During Ramadan, all the Dubai-based Address Hotels + Resorts participated in the “No to Food Waste Initiative” and diverted the entire food waste coming from the Iftar from landfills either through charitable donations or through offsite composting.

From the room key to the amenities, sustainability is embedded in every detail within our hotel. We aim to be plastic free in our operations and we are taking steps on this regard. Our room keys are crafted from bamboo, while amenities are made from plant-based materials like cornstarch and wheat straw. Cutlery is fashioned from date palm leaves, embodying our commitment to reducing single-use plastics. All our Address Hotels and Resorts in Dubai hotels have also replaced plastic water bottles in the rooms with sustainable glass alternatives.

During the recent opening of Palace Creek Harbour, our newly launched hotel team came together to plant one Ghaf Tree as an occasion. 

Employee Engagement Initiatives. 

We know and realise that Sustainability is not just with the corporate team or the environment but with employees as a whole. We have crafted several employee engagement initiatives and volunteering activities too. We have created a dedicated internal space for Sustainability topics and feedback to promote awareness in this regard. Our team at Emaar Hospitality also completed multiple volunteering visits to Senses Day Care Centre, and where we spent time with children of determination.

All our Address Hotels and Resorts are striving to be certified Green Key. This is an external assessment and check for our sustainability efforts. In 2024, 6 hotels have won the Green Key certificate from Emirates Green Building Council so far and we are in the process of application for the remaining. We also ensure that we associate with suppliers or partners who follow very high sustainability standards and ethical sourcing.
